I have some exciting news! I have designed a pattern that I am very excited about!!! I've named it Razor's Edge. It will be up for sale in our QIMS Etsy shop. Check it out here QIMS Etsy Shop.
Before I can actually start selling the quilt pattern, I would like two volunteers to test the pattern by making the quilt top. We will give 2 lucky winners the pattern to test for us and I will quilt them free of charge. All the winner will have to do is pay for shipping their top and backing fabric to me. Of course you are more than welcome to quilt it yourself as well. If you would like to be a tester for Razor's Edge, please leave a comment below describing how you would like to create this quilt and how you would want it quilted. That's all you have to do to be entered in the drawing! On Friday, November 20th I will put all of the interested names in a hat and pull out 2 lucky winners!!!!
The pattern will be emailed to you as a pdf file. We ask that you make the quilt top per the instructions using two contrasting fabrics. You can chose two solids or one solid and one print. We already have one tester that is making a red/white quilt, so if you could chose a different color combination that would be great! We would like to add your quilt tops to our blog after they are finished to showcase the different ways that it can be created. So not only will you get a free quilt pattern and quilting services but your work will be showcased for everyone to see! How awesome is that!!!!? So please comment below to be entered into the drawing! I can't wait to see the different ways this pattern can look!
I would love to test it for you. I would rather quilt it myself, though, if that's okay. I love my longarm, but never get to just quilt something for ME.

ReplyDeleteI would love yo test this pattern! I would love to do the top in teals coral and brown to give it a Navajo feel because that's what the shapes reminds me of ! I would love to see it quilted with ruler work and straight lines to accentuate the geometric pattern.

I would love to test your pattern. Blue and white or more of a scrappy with bright prints and white. For the quilting... something modern and circlular but not pebbles in the main part For the border jagged edge "feathers" to look native American. This is my first thought but at times I change my mind after looking at a quilt longer.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful pattern! I would love to test it in a gradation of purple or blue. I think starting in the middle with the darkest color and having each increasing diamond get lighter would really make this quilt shine! I would also like to see the white space quilted to make the colors pop. Beautiful quilt!!!

DeleteBeautiful, I think this will make a nice mans quilt. Not sure what colors will have to think about that.The quilting should be light so it stays soft an cuddly.

ReplyDeleteI would love to test this pattern for you. I have the perfect fabric for it too. A burgundy that looks like velvet, (but is cotton) and a white background with burgundy flower. Very excited to see this in different fabrics to show it's beauty.

DeleteI would probably choose a print and a solid, and I really love the parallel lines on the lighter fabrics as shown in the photo above, but would probably go with pebbles on the other fabrics. As for the border, I love the idea of a custom border to really add that final touch (maybe some leaves and vines?? not sure). Probably will need to decide that after the top is pieced. Thanks for such a fun giveaway!

ReplyDeleteI would love to do the Razor Quilt in a shade of dark purple on a lighter purple. I wouldn't want white or cream gets to dirty looking after awhile. Maybe edge it in another shade of purple.

ReplyDeleteI would use different shades of the same color to morph from light to dark, in concentric rows from the center outward. Maybe in gray's to black on white. Or it kind of looks like a sunrise, one could go with a lovely light yellow moving towards a dark red/purple in the outer edges.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! I would do it using one batik that is a subtle multi-colored design, more specifically an orange tone batik with dashes of purple. The light would be either a white to make the color pop, or an off white with a yellow undertone to keep it clean looking and not change the strong color of the batik. Because it is "geometric" I would quilt it with a circle of feathers in the middle and then continue with feathers throughout to move it a touch more towards the traditional, or work with circles to keep it more in the "modern" realm. Love the pattern.
